ARTIST BIO

Joe is an oil painter who was fortunate to have grown up in the bush environments of North Queensland's sugar town Proserpine and at a beach in the Whitsundays, which influenced his love and respect for the Australian bush.

Joe's painting process, his choice of colour palette, brush strokes and palette knife technique, is evoked by sensations from listening to varied music genres. His emotional response to these transcendent feelings, is the source from which he draws upon to capture Australia's natural environment, evidenced in combinations of colours, textures and expressive strokes.

Inspired by a group of self-taught artists, the 'Brushmen of the Bush', Joe's distinctive artistic technique has evolved into a individualistic painting style through experimentation and openness to new ideas and influences.

Exhibiting regularly, Joe's works are respresented in private and public collections around Australia and overseas.
